A Friday drive through the Door Peninsula
After watching the Norse pull off a massive win in Green Bay, I woke up early on Friday morning, checked out of my hotel and started north to Door County. I wanted to swing through before turning and heading south back to Milwaukee.
It was definitely worth the trip. First, I got to see another beautiful park along Lake Michigan – Cave Point County Park. It’s not hard to figure out why, when you search photos taken there on Instagram, there are so many engagement, wedding and even prom photos taken there. The scenery was amazing, even in November.
My favorite parts of my trip were spent on the shores of Lake Michigan. I could have skipped the big cities and just stayed out there for six days and been totally content. The weather was chilly enough to keep other people away, but not so cold where it was unpleasant.
Once I finished shooting footage there, I made my way down through Green Bay again and to Milwaukee. Milwaukee was cool, although I admittedly didn’t do a lot of sightseeing around the city while I was there. It was a chance to relax for a couple days, catch one more NKU game and then get ready to head home.
The plan was to fly out of Milwaukee Sunday morning, catch a connecting flight in Detroit and return to Cincinnati to pick up my car I had dropped off six days prior.
Unfortunately, there was an issue with the plane that caused a delay in leaving Milwaukee. This meant I missed my connecting flight and would have to wait three hours for the next flight back to CVG. So I did what everyone does on a Sunday morning – went to Texas Roadhouse at the airport and had chicken tenders (which were pretty good).
Thankfully, my rescheduled flight left on time, and I headed back to Cincinnati.
I really enjoyed this trip. It was some of the most relaxing times I’ve had. And making these videos have been a lot of fun as well! I hope you’ve enjoyed them. If you have, please like and subscribe to my channel!
Next week, I’ll have an epilogue video talking about what to expect when traveling right now, ranking the hotels on my stay, and what I learned during my trip and the making of my videos. See you next time!
