Do people get spoiled living next to a large body of water?

Wind Point, MI

The second day of my trip took me to the shores of Lake Michigan. I would stop again on the last day of my journey as well, visiting the Door County peninsula.

It made me wonder: Does anybody get tired of looking at a large body of water?

Obviously, Lake Michigan can’t compare to living on the ocean. But it was still beautiful. Especially on this trip, as high winds were whipping the seas into a frenzy.

I’ve never been a big water person. I had horrible experiences learning how to swim when I was very little, and because of that, I can’t swim to this day.

Because I can’t swim, I really don’t find myself wanting to go out on boats or hanging out at the beach (not having a beach body certainly plays into that factor as well).

But man, this was so refreshing. Even with temperatures in the 30s and 40s for most of the visit, it was so wonderful.

I would have loved to come early enough in the year to take a ferry across Lake Michigan. So I guess I’ll have to keep that on my list for the next time I visit.

On this week’s video, I leave Chicago for Wind Point, WI. That was super cool, and there was only one other person there (and their dog, who makes a cameo in the video). I went from there to Sheboygan and then on to Manitowoc.

Wind Point and Manitowoc were the highlights of this part of the video. Manitowoc had a long walk out to the lighthouse. I didn’t want to pass up the chance to walk out there.

Although it caused some heavier breathing on the video (thanks, USB microphone hooked to my phone), it was definitely worth it.

On next week’s video, I head on to Green Bay. I take a tour of Lambeau (which videos were not allowed on – just pictures), and I headed to see if the NKU women’s basketball team could beat Green Bay on its home floor for the first time.

Thank you to everyone who has been watching videos on my channel and subscribing. It has been fun to make them, and I promise more content to come in the future!

Thanks for joining me on the journey! See you again next week!
